So Before we get into the best exercises to lose belly fat, let me just talk a little more about stress and what it does to your body physically.
Stress, is the number 1 reason why most people cannot shake off that belly fat no matter how hard you try, how dedicated and organized you are with your workout routines and how well you control your diet. As the world renowned expert Mike Geary says in his book Truth about Abs, the best exercises for losing belly fat and getting great looking abs are actually not ab exercises at all!
He argues that ab exercises only work towards building your ab muscles which is NOT the only thing you need to lose the belly fat and get the 6 packs. In fact, better built ab muscles is the last thing you need. Counter Intuitive? I know…
Here’s the thing. If you have belly fat, that does not mean you do not have well made abs inside that layer of belly fat. It just means it can’t be seen. Focusing only on ab exercises mean you are forming abs inside your layer of fat but it cannot be seen. In your zeal to get those six packs, most people will work themselves out with the exercises only to be frustrated because they won’t be able to see what they’ve created inside that layer of belly fat. Not surprisingly, this will mean giving up on the dream of sporting sexy 6 packs for most people.
So the real answer to 6 packs lies not in ab targeted exercises and workouts but in taking a holistic approach and reducing fat from the body overall. the BEST exercise routine to lose belly fat while starting out…
Instead of going for the normal ab building routines that you see everywhere else, I’d like to steer you towards high intensity work outs that will boost your metabolism and the ability to burn fat, plus they will also work your abs simultaneously. in order to lose fat on the belly as well.
This routine does not consist of any ANY direct ab workout at all. Like I said, its geared towards burning your body fat overall while still giving your abs a hard workout indirectly.
Here’s the routine
- Renegade Dumbbell Rows
- Front Squats with Barbell
- Mountain Climbers on Floor
A good way to carry out this routine is to do about 5 sets of 5 reps each. I find that doing more sets of less reps is easier and usually gets the same results, plus also builds up your body for higher levels of strain.
